Performing
Performance mode
Press ~ or Perform to show only the picture, full screen. A single Escape blacks the screen out; hold Escape to come back to the edit screen.
A second screen
Performance ▾ → Output window opens a window with only the picture, for a projector. Chrome can put it on your other screen if you let it. Press ~ or double-click it to make it full screen, and keep the edit screen on your laptop. YouTube notes don't appear in it, because their players can't be captured.
Keep the Padjam window visible: a hidden or minimised browser window stops drawing.
Recording
Record ▾ records:
- Video: the picture and Padjam's sound, as MP4 (or WebM), written to disk as it goes, so long sets are fine.
- MIDI: everything you play, with its timing, as a standard MIDI file any DAW opens.
- Both, side by side, with matching names.
The first recording asks for a folder; Padjam remembers it. Play a MIDI file… plays a recording back through Padjam, and …and record video gives you a clean video of a jam. YouTube notes aren't recorded.
Session report
Performance ▾ → Session report… shows how a session went: frame rate, stutters, how long notes took to reach the screen, what you played most, and any errors. It's kept on your computer only.
