Clips
Play clip. Plays the clip while held. Sustain (one-shot) plays it to the end. Sound can follow velocity: Volume follows velocity, Pan follows velocity (64 centred).
Play clip with brightness. Velocity sets brightness: 64 normal, softer darker, harder brighter.
Fade clip. Fades the clip in from one opacity to another over a fade time, which velocity can set (harder is quicker). Animating source fades against whatever is underneath as it changes, rather than a snapshot.
Tile clip. Repeats the clip in a grid, 1 to 64 across and down; velocity can set either count.
Scratch clip. A controller drives the clip while held. Position: the controller is the playhead, so a knob scrubs back and forth. Speed: the clip plays and the controller sets its speed (64 normal, 0 stopped, 127 about double). Hold ← or → to scratch with the keyboard. Its sound follows the scratch, like a record.
Stills
Show still. Shows an image. Velocity can set a zoom time, put a smaller copy in a grid cell, or set brightness.
Fade still. Fade clip for a still.
Swirl still. Warps the image: spiral, spin, pulse, pinch, flower or reactor. Velocity sets the speed: 64 still, harder clockwise, softer anticlockwise.
Wipe still. Reveals the image in the order a greyscale pattern sets: built in, or your own wipe image. Dark parts first, or light. Reverse makes it disappear instead.
Effects (no file)
Colour fill. Fills the screen with a colour. Velocity can set its hue or brightness; the hue can keep cycling while held.
Feedback. Copies the picture over itself, larger or smaller each frame, for tunnels and trails. Give it a higher priority than what it works on.
Split/Wipe. Takes the current picture and moves it off screen in pieces: up, down, left, right, split or four ways. Reverse brings the pieces in.
Text display. Shows text in a chosen font, size, colour and position.
Sketch (p5.js)
Runs a p5.js sketch as a note. See Sketches.
YouTube
Plays a YouTube video. It sits under the canvas, so clips play over it, or above if you choose. It can't use the effects that need pixels (transparent black, feedback), because the browser keeps YouTube's pixels private. Velocity can set brightness, opacity, hue, zoom, position, volume or speed, and it can wipe in. For personal use: YouTube's terms apply.
